The Theory of the Wall Street Journal

Ron Kaplan (CTO Powerset), in a talk at IMS Stuttgart this afternoon.


Powerset wants to lead the next revolution in web search with a natural language query interfact. Interesting stuff, and an employee list that reads like the who-is-who of NLP. If I had a US work permit, I'd be tempted to apply there. (What a way to avoid difficult decisions - choose a third option. Still, I guess the mere fact that I attended this talk sould tell me something about which choice to make.)

Hm, damn, was that published via the usual mail distribution list?

I just read about Powerset a few days ago and now I possibly haven't read my mails carefully enough.

I only got a reminder mail via the list a few hours before the event, after which I pretty much ran to get there in time.
